She was in front of me, both of us turning right. I thought she went, so I looked to the left so see if I was clear. I hit the gas & she was still in front of me. I probably went 10mph max. I didn’t have enough distance to pick up any more speed than that. She asked me if I was OK and I asked her if she was OK. Everyone was fine. She works for car insurance…an auto claims supervisor. Could she be lying because she knows the ins & outs of car insurance? I haven't been told the details of her 'injury'. What should I do? Sit in front of her work & secretly videotape her?!

I did call the police. And I do have insurance. I guess I'll let my insurance lady deal with it. It's just that I'm so pissed that she's lying!!!

were the police there? if a report was filed they would indicate whether or not she was injured. you personally should not do anything. do get involved in trying to prove that she is ok... what would it prove if ou sw her carrying groceries and whatever? all you can do and should do is report to your own insurance company that you feel she is not being truthful. an adjuster can tell from the amount of damage to a car whether or not a person is really injured. also it depends on what state you live in as to how medical expenses and injuries are covered. if you live in a no-fault state, then her own company will cover her own medical expenses up to her policy limit. it would then be up to her to recover additional expenses and any amount of money for injuries from your insurance company.
just don't get too caught up in it, other than tell your company there isn't much you can do. sit back and let your company do what you pay them to do, that is defend you. you have a right to know what this woman is claiming so you can ask that...
it's a shame that people lie and cheat to get away with something and we all pay for it in the long run.
good luck.

You should have called the police. That's the first step in any auto accident. They would have taken a police report from her, and asked if she had an injuries at that time.
Now it's just your word against hers. She may be faking or it may be real - you will never know. Especially because she works as an adjuster, she knows every step to go through to "prove" she was injured. Also remember that many neck injuries appear much later after the accident. Sometimes years.
Next time, call the police. That is the only way to protect yourself. It may have resulted in a fine, but it would be a lot less than you're going to pay now.

Remember the law states you must have total control of your vehicle at all times.
Anytime you rear end someone, you are always at fault.
Never admit, say anything at the scene regarding injuries or who's at fault. It can and will be used against you in court.
Get a lawyer asap.

Sounds like she's looking to make some easy money. That is why are insurance rates are sky high. If you have insurance, of course they will take care of it, but, I hear you, its so disgusting how people play the system.

Let your insurance company handle it. That is what they are there for. You do have liability insurance right? You know, the one you legally have to keep current to drive a car?

Do you have car insurance? If you do, turn it over to them. Don't be filming anybody.
