We are wanting to take our kids away camping for the weekend. Relaxing, a little fishing and canoe hire or free canoes would be a bonus!!...Showers and toilets would be nice but not a must, I know it is a big ask but is there such place?? Sticking 1 or 2 hour's radius of Brisbane would be great too. Anyone know anywhere like that? :)
Thanks

lol...thank you tentofield...I didn't even notice that slight detail as I picked up the question on the General page.

anyhoo....about S'MORES:
A s'more is a traditional campfire treat popular in the United States and Canada, consisting of a roasted marshmallow and a slab of chocolate sandwiched between two pieces of graham cracker.
S'mores got their name from frequent requests for "some more" whenever they were made.

HOW GIRLS MAKE S'MORES
(1) Place Hershey bars on graham crackers.
(2) Toast marshmallows.
(3) Place toasted marshmallows on Hershey bars to melt chocolate.

HOW BOYS MAKE S'MORES
(1) Eat Hershey bars.
(2) Eat marshmallows.
(3) Throw graham crackers at other boys.

As this question is being asked in the "Australia and New Zealand" section and the Brisbane section of that, I think we can safely presume that it is Brisbane, Australia that is the subject of the enquiry.

I am not familiar with camping grounds around Brisbane but I would suggest checking some of the National Parks. The National Parks website should tell you what facilities are available at the different Parks near Brisbane.

i know a nice place for camping (used to take the kids there many years ago)no toilets/showers no nothing that you don't take with you it is the upper part of the Brisbane river lot of crossings there (camping areas on the sides)as a road goes through the Vally & the river winds through it is about 2 hours from brisbane it is very quiet you can go swimming & fishing in the deeper pools
it is just past a town called linville (25 klm)just off the d'aguilar HWY not far past kilcoy
go to http://www.street-directory.com.au/sd_new/mapsearch.cgi
& put in linville to see where it is

Well where do you live? Cause it would help if we knew how far away our suggestions are compared to you. But my suggestion is somewhere in the White Mountains in Arizona. IT may be a little cold, but it's a great camping area
