Her ped told us to monitor her wet diapers and to make sure she's getting enough fluids. We broke the fever down a bit. She's still a little elevated. My concern is how do I tell if she's wetting her diaper when she has very watery diarrhea? She drank about a cup of pedialyte over the time she was up, had some jello and a little apple juice. Was this enough fluids because now she's sleeping and I don't know if I should wake her to give her more liquids...

I wouldn't wake her just yet, she needs the sleep to help heal also. Make sure to monitor the color of her watery bowel movements... if it's a lot more green than brownish than it's not just the stomach flu... I called the doctor and described the symptoms and they said that's what it was but I took my daughter in the next day and it turned out to be rotovirus. Which is a longer lasting more severe type of virus that is really gross. It won't make much difference in the treatment but there are different warning signs to look out for with rotovirus than the flu. For now just keep giving her the pedialyte and completely avoid milk because that'll make it so much worse and if you are worried about her getting dehydrated, rub the inner cheek, if it's dry take her to the hospital asap, if it's still moist, she's fine.. Good luck!

Sounds like the stomach flu. If she is sleeping, I wouldn't wake her. Just make sure when she wakes up to keep giving her fluids, even popsicles are good. I know how stressful it is, I've been there too! Obviously if she has diarrhea she must be getting enough as I highly doubt you are feeding her if she's vomitting. So long as you are able to keep her fever under control, then don't worry. If she becomes extremely lathargic, I'd get her to a doctor. If this keeps up for 3 or 4 days, I would also call the doctor back just to see if you can take her in (it will ease your mind).
good luck.
Oh yeah, keep her OFF the juice. Any fruit will only add to the diarreah.

Let her sleep. Just make sure she has something to drink when she wakes up. Sleep heals, just check her every couple of hours to make sure thats what it is - a healthy sleep. If she is burning up when you check on her or her breathing seems wrong then head back to the doctor. If she'll drink plain water that would be good too along with what ever else you can get in to her.

Good luck. It's such a worry when they are so sick.

as long as he's getting fluids down he shouldn't get dehydrated. If he can drink easy water too this is stable. It seems such as you're watching him very heavily so I wouldnt take him to ER till he gets worse. In ER you will take a seat and wait and have a large bill. Im hoping day after today morning he would be extra appropriate. Does your Dr make it easier to be attentive to to offer something to make him experience extra appropriate like childrens tylenol or aspirin ( I propose in the previous)

Her diareah will not be faint yellow or clear. Don't wake her up, she needs her sleep as well. You can also give her watered down 7-up. As long as your changing wet diapers as much or more than normal, you are doing fine.

that's some kind of virus.. My daughter had something like that month ago. She had diarrhea but she didn't vomit, some baby's don't some does. I took her to her doctor and he said it's virus and it should go away in a week. He didn't proscribe anything just will go away by itself..just remember wash hands every time you touch the baby and after because that's spreadable, one of you can have that too...good luck and i wish your baby get better pretty soon..

If she is sleeping it is probally best to leave her alone. She will let you know if she is uncomfortable. Keep checking on her every half hour or so. If something really seems wrong like she starts to feel like her fever might be going up then wake her up.
