I never had a cell phone before, what kind is best for me?

I don't talk much on cell phones....I won't be using it much at all but I want it just to have in case...
my question is which company has a great pre paid deal?
how much does it cost for mins?
tell me whatever you know....

get tmobile to go its the best pre-paid available, once you get in the gold rewards program which is when you have entered $100 or more into your account then any amount you add to your account from then on will not expire for a year.
so you could add a $10 which would get you 35 or 50 minutes and that could last you the rest of the year

i personally have a plan which i love but i had pre-paid before and liked it
