On Windows XP machines:

1. Start Windows Explorer (right-click the Start menu, then choose Explore).
2. Navigate to the folder in which you want to create a .zip file.
3. On the File menu, point to New, and then click Compressed (zipped) Folder. Type a name for the new folder, and then press ENTER.
4. Using Windows Explorer, drag any files you wish to place into the .zip file.

To Email:

1.Click "Compose."
2.Compose your message.
3.Insert the diskette containing your file in to the floppy drive of the computer.
4.Click the "Attachments" button.
5.Click the "Browse" button.
6.The "File Upload" box will appear.
7 Locate your file.
8 You should now see your file listed adjacent to the "Browse" button. Click the "Attach to Message" button.
9 Your file name should disappear from the window next to the "Browse" button. Now click the "Done" button.
10 You should now see your file listed next to "Attachments," just above the text of your message.
11 Click the "Send" button to send your message and attachment.
12 When you are finished accessing your account, close the browser.

Go to CNET.com and download a application called winzip, unless you already have it.

Once you install winzip, create a new file, then add the file you want to zip inside of it. "zipping" a file compresses it to a smaller size. For example you could compress a 4Mb file down to maybe 1Mb. The compressibility of a file depends on a lot of factors.

To email it, you just attach it to your email message. Without knowing what email application you use it's difficult to give step by step directions.

Even if you pay for a service to send an email of that size the recipient is likely not to be able to receive it cos of the size.
