I want to get a new processor. I would like to get a new socket type and everything, but it cost like $500 to upgrade all that. I guess I will just upgrade my CPU to hold me for a while.
The 3400+ i'm looking at has these specs:
AMD Athlon 64 3400+ 2.2 GHz Processor
AMD Athlon 64 3400+ (2.2 GHz) 1 MB CACHE, 754 SOCKEt
And my sempron 2800+ has this:
AMD Sempron 64 2800+ Palermo 1.6GHz 256KB L2 Cache Socket 754 Processor
The frequency and the cache is a really big difference. That would help me in games like oblivion right?

I have a 6800gs video card.. so will an athlon 3400 help me vs the sempron i already have?

the 3400+ should be your choice between them. fast and a much better processor ..

The 3400+ it's a better choice, but games like Oblivion you definitly need a good video card. that game is gpu intensive, but having a better cpu always helps!!! What video card do you have?

the 3400 out performs the sempron in every way. cache, clock speed, and probably FSB (front side bus). If u want to go mobile, u might want the sempron?
