My family all use the same computer so the computer lacks memory. We just installed a new drive. How do we switch our current main drive to the new one?

You can't just switch. You would have to reinstall the operation system onto the new drive. Also, all the programs would have to be reinstalled.

Try moving all the data to the new drive and see if that give the old one enough space.

Just a sec...wait a moment.

Memory, here....you mean hard disk space, I guess. So you bought a new drive. That works.

If you are willing to shell out a little cash (about $30), there's a great application called Ghost (made by Symantec) that can take a "picture" (what they call an "image") of your present hard drive and you can transfer that to your new drive. The application is a little technical, but if you read the manual and hit the Net for some advice (just Google something like "using Ghost images", you can get some good background before you do it for real.

There are also other applications (such as Acronis True Image Home 10) out there that do the same thing, but I know Ghost more than any other. Try going to www.downloads.com and enter something along the lines of "backup software" or "restore software" and go through the results. There may be a much easier-to-use app out there.

Good Luck!
