there are two kinds of injuries that may occur witha fall like that, one acute one chronic, the acute one is called a subarachnoid hemorhage, its symptoms include vomiting, lethargy, poor appetite and the symptoms are seen a few minutes after a fall, the chronic one is caleed a subdural hemmorhage, the same symptoms but manifest slowly, a period of a few days to a week...

now a month has passed and your baby does not seem to beshowing any of these symptoms, but to be sure , it would be prudent to bring your infant to a doctor in your area... a quick physical should be all that the M.D. will need to confirm that there is nothing wrong...

thanks, hopefully, i was of some help to you...

i apologize in advance to everyone who is going to think me a horrible mother. I work third shift, so the only way I can get any sleep in the daytime is to take the baby to bed with me for her naps. Even though I have a two foot retaining wall of pillows around my bed, she has managed three times to push/pull them out of her way and crawl off of the bed. Babies fall, that is a fact of life. Did I rush her to the hospital? No. I picked her up and comforted her. I checked for any injuries and she was fine. The only time my daughter cries is when she is over tired, so lack of crying is in no way an indication that something is wrong.
If it will give you piece of mind, by all means take her to the doctor, but chances are he will tell you the same thing I just said. Babies fall...it's gonna happen unless the parent is far too overprotective.

He only cries when he's hungry and you said he seems fine otherwise. He's fine. Don't worry. I was a wreck when I was a new mom. I had just brought my baby boy home from the hospital two days before when I accidently dropped him on the changing table and he hit his head. He calmed down after a few minutes and my mom told me not to worry. I worried and worried for a long time, feeling just sick from guilt. What kind of horrible mother am I, I thought. However, we are just human and do the best we can.

By the way, he's 9 years old now and although sometimes it seems like there is something wrong with his brain -- LOL-- there's not. He didn't get hurt and my little boy is a happy, smart (very smart) child and my stupid moment when I accidently dropped him didn't do any damage to him at all.

You're fine, your baby's fine and I'm sure you are a great mom!

If he seems to be acting differently than he did before the fall, then you need to have him checked immediately. You did not state the child's age, but I am assuming he is very young because otherwise you probably would have asked him how he is feeling. If money is the issue about taking him to the doctor, then check and see if your local area has a health department that does routine medical appointments for a very nominal fee or for free. I just think that if you felt everything was ok with him, you would not be writing this question.

sounds fine. Wouldnt you cry if you were hungry or cold? I know I would.

If it'd make you feel better, make an appointment with his pediatrician for an examination to be sure. I"m really not sure why you've been negligent of this for a month and not had him looked at earlier.

I would call your baby's doctor and ask them these questions. That way, the doctor, who also knows your child well, can tell you if something is wrong or not. Just call him if you don't feel it's serious enough to bring the baby in.

Babies are resilient that way. All of my children fell off of my bed when they were babies, and none of them got hurt from it. They cried when it happened, but got over it quickly. You may have a baby who just doesn't feel the need to cry. As long as he seems normal every other way, stop worrying. I once heard that if a baby never has fallen off the bed, he isn't normal. LOL

I think I would at least call the doctors office and ask them about it. You never know if there could be bleeding or something that could be very dangerous to your baby.

After a month, any problems would've manifested by now. Taking him to the doctor now would probably only get you a social worker trying to snatch your kid. He's fine....this country on the other hand...
