If by M.E. you mean "myalgic encephalomyelitis", better known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, I believe the most important thing to do would be to make sure that the diagnosis is correct. Since many of the symptoms of CFS can be caused by other conditions, and there is no cure or any specific treatment for CFS, the wrong diagnosis could prevent you from getting appropriate treatment if your symptoms are caused by something else. So my first recommendation would be, if you haven't done it yet, to seek second opinion from a trusted specialist.
If you have done that, and the diagnosis appears to be as certain as it can be, my second recommendation would be to join a support group.
You can use this link to help find one close to you:
http://www.cdc.gov/cfs/cfssupport.htm
Treatments that can be tried to help symptoms include cognitive behavioural therapy, professional counsling, certain medications including pain medicines, anxiety and sleep medications, treatment of allergies and low blood pressure for those who have these conditions, nutritious diet, moderate exercise. There are also some clinical trials going on (see the link to the National Institutes for Health below).
Try the links below, and good luck! :)
PS Now if you mean something else by M.E....

The best thing you can do is find out as much as possible about ME also known as CFS Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
I have included some links for you to read. I believe the last link is the better of all the links, it also has a down loadable pdf of "A clinical case definition. Which you may find very helpful.
I recommend the you rest when you can, try to get quality sleep and eat a healthy diet (avoiding junk food etc). Also try to avoid stress and over exertion.

ME stands for Myalgic Encephalopathy.
We call it chronic fatigue syndrome in the US.
Not much you can do. Just exercise as recommended by your doc.
Make sure your doctor has excluded other things that can be confused with ME, like Lupus, lyme's disease, anemia, thyroid problems, etc.

i feel for you .my wife was diagnosed with the same thing some years ago, just do as your Dr tells you , don't go on the net to look up illness as the reading only makes you think about it and may make you worse, best of luck.
