Many gyms have Pregnancy Workout classes. You can also invest in a pregnancy workout video. They are specifically made for pregnant women, and are safe to do.

Congrats!

I do not know how long but walking and swimming are some of the best preganancy exercises around. They are low risk for injury to mom or baby. I went to a local gym two or three times a week with an indoor pool and put in about an hour long workout. I gained 28 pounds with my pregnancy, had a healthy baby who weighed in at 8 pounds 4 ounces and was down 15 pounds when I left the hospital. I only had 13 to lose after that. The first six weeks I lost nothing and then it started coming off a pound every week or two by walking the baby in the stroller two miles a day. My doctor said I was a poster child of good weight gain and loss.

Well i was told to exercise for 30mins - three times a week. Just remember not to overexert yourself - if you can't carry out a conversation while you are working out then you're pushing yourself too much!

Personally i use an exercise bike (time restraints mean i can't walk outdoors as i leave very early and get home very late) but swimming is also suppose to be really good when you are pregnant.

ask your dr. really, it doesn't matter how much weight you gained as long as you have a healthy baby. i doubt if anyone is looking at your thighs while on the delivery table and thinking that you're hot if you only gained 20 lbs.
