Yes I remember free TV. I hate paying for TV to cable companies. I hate it so much I have cancelled my cable subscription. You know I really don't miss the TV. I had like 100 channels and could never find anything to watch anyway. Maybe more people should cancel cable TV to send a message.
I think we have forgotten that there were things that you did not get charged for at one time. It seems like now days you get charged for everything and more!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, sorry to admit, I do remember. I also remember being told that we would be charged for television in the future. Who would have thought? I remember the first paid was HBO, which, of course, we got. Then after that, antennas no longer worked without some type of cable. It is sad indeed and we really don't have a big choice of what to watch. I sometimes just curl up with a good book.
Thanks for reminding me. Yes, it is a shame.

Remember when it was free.......it still is where I am. All 4 channels are all I really need. I get ABC, NBC, CBS and WB. Turning the antenna may be a pain but at least I don't pay to watch my favorite shows.

I can't even pick up the regular channels where I live; not that it matters, from what's on I wouldn't watch it anyway. I have 100+ channels on my satellite dish, and there's a lot of times there's nothing on. Most of what I watch are reruns of older shows, but even TVLand is getting bland.

Yes, and I remember that the main selling point of cable after the multitude if channels is that it wasn't supposed to have commercials. Now we have nearly as many commercials as we do show time. Strangely, the big selling point of XM radio is that there is no commercials. Hmmmm.....

YOUR ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. I REMEMBER THE OLD ANTENNA ON THE ROOF DAYS. THAT WAS SUCH A PAIN. WHEN THE WIND BLEW IT MESSED UP YOUR PICTURE, SO YOU'D HAVE TO GO OUTSIDE AND TURN THE OLE ANTENNA POLE. I HADN'T REALLY THOUGHT MUCH ABOUT HOW THE ONLY THING I COMPLAINED ABOUT WAS BAD RECEPTION. I WAS TO BUSY DOING OTHER THINGS BESIDES BE STUCK TO THE TUBE. MY MOM NEVER HAD TO TELL ME TO OUTSIDE AND PLAY CAUSE I WAS ALWAYS OUT SIDE WITH MY FRIENDS.
