Always wondered about this, if the 2.2 LT 4 Cylinder engine used in Chrysler cars during the mid to late Eighties was made by a different company other than Chrysler. Someone else though it might have been Mitsubishi who made it or ???

2.2 and 2.5 were built by Chrysler, whether they were Turbo or not.
2.6 and 3.0 were the Mitsubishi built engines.

in those days chrysler used 4 different 4 cylinders the 1.6 was made by puegot the 1.7 was by vw porche and audi the 2.2 was american and the 2.6 was made by mitsubishi

Mitsubishi sounds familiar. I know Mazda made motors for Ford so you can eliminate Mazda.

i thought renault had something to do with the 2.2 or the 2.5 cant remember but one of them was a french design not mitsu.
