Could be a nasty problem. Inside the sewage tank is a float switch. When the sewage level is high it is supposed to turn the pump on. When the tank is nearly empty the float drops and turns the pump off. It sounds like the float switch is not dropping far enough to turn the pump off. The float is probably stuck. You have to take the top off the tank and free or repair the float. If you don't have the stomach for it call a plumber.
