Is it a good thing or bad? I am thinking of getting one, but then again all of the online predators. Please let me know!

Don't worry about the online predators... All you have to do is make your myspace private and then only your friends that you approve can see your site.

It depends on your age and purpose for wanting a Myspace. Also, how careful you are about keeping your true identity (as in name, address, etc) secret. Don't allow ANYONE to be your 'friend' unless you know them personally. That cute seventeen-year-old could very well be a fifty-something pervert. The internet is a goldmine for sexual predators and other deviants.

An interesting phenomenom amongst teens is using Myspace as a way of humiliating others. You know, like the videos of kids getting beat up, etc. Here is an article about a Myspace experience: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/101152/myspace_is_evil.html

It's nothing like kids getting beat up or sexual predators, but it is an added outlook on the whole Myspace experience.

Its Ok... i have a myspace and so do all my other people from school when someone trys to add you it wont let them until you approve it, if you dont know who it is just decline them then they cant talk to you or even look at your myspace. just put it on private like mine so only people you know can look st your myspace profile. All you have to do is add them. Its really not as bad as people make it sound! Trust me! ^^

Don't list any personal info. Keep your profile private. Only make friends that you know in real life...no bands, no groups, no strangers. And PLEASE...for your own sake...keep any party pics to yourself. You don't want anyone to have anything on you that they could hold against you in any way. I've seen a friend lose a job b/c a co-worker showed her myspace pics to her boss. Just use common sense and it'll be fine.

myspace prides itself on privacy. Predators are most successful when they get information right from the person they're talking to.

I have myspace and what I did was put my profile to private so no one can see my profile unless I add them as my friend, and the only people I add are the people I know.

Well on myspace there is an option to make it private and you choose who sees it and everything. That's what I did. NO one can see it unless they are accepted, by you, as a friend.

I think it's good. I met up with a lot of people i haven't talked to since grade school. And you can always set your profile to private so then people have to request to see your page and it all goes thru you. They can't even look at your pictures or anything without you approving them as a friend.

If you like to put pictures and info about hobbies and such like and just share it with you family and close friends then its great. But don't put personal info on it and keep it private.

Its a big worry that there are so many preditors on the interenet.

Sad fact of 21st Century life.. sigh..

Nothing bad will happen to you if you only add people you know. if you don't know them, don't add them!
no bad will come to you.
i have had myspace for over 2 years now.
just change your password at least once a month so you wont become hacked. [its not too fun]
