I am 30wks pregnant... i cannot stop cleaning.
Over the weekend i moved all the furniture out from downstairs so i could get on my hands and knees and scrub the floors. I scrubbed the window frames, the door frames, the windows. I vaccumed until there was NOTHING i had left behind. I cleaned out wardrobes and dressers, i stripped beds and washed all the linen. I went through our office and cleaned out paperwork and filed tax returns etc. And my next job (next weekend) is to scrub the walls of our house. I'm at work today exhausted because i cleaned so much over the weekend and all i can think is "I want to go home and clean those darn walls"! LOL.

This is not normal behaviour... is it?
I won't let my fiance help because... well because he's not me i suppose and i want things to be done my way! lol.
When will this crazy compulsive behaviour stop? I've always liked a clean neat house but even i recognise i'm a bit extreme at the moment... but don't know how to stop it?!

Bless your heart!! You are in the "nesting" stage of pregnancy! I swear they should write about this in all the pregnancy books. It should be right there in trimester three! It is the urge you have to make sure that your nest is just right! We also used to call it "contented cow syndrome" but I like the name nesting better for obvious reason. I think that it means that you are really at the end of what has been for you a very long pregnancy. I have a feeling it will not be much longer for you. I have also heard that sometimes all this cleaning can cause you to go into labor. Since you are only 30 weeks this would not be a good idea. Maybe you should try to find something else to do wiith all that nervous energy ! How are you going to handle staying at home with a new baby?!
I hope that you settle down a bit! Having a baby should be fun. Relax and enjoy what is left of your pregnancy.
Good luck and take care.

There are much more important things going on when you give birth- nobody is concerned about how well manicured you are "down there". You mentioned having some qualms about being naked "down there" in front of a doctor. Have you never had pelvic exam before? I would hope that since you are pregnant, you are at least at the age where you have had a few. But no, that is not embarassing either. A doctor is there to help you and the context of the situation is different, so it should not be awkward. Also, your cervix is what dilates when you deliver, not your vagina so a doctor cannot see it anyway, he or she can only feel how dilated you are. When I was pregnant, I do admit that I let myself go a little bit, but I would occasionally try to neaten up down there by shaving, and sometimes I would actually just take a small pair of scissors and trim the hair. Whatever you do, believe me you will not even be worried about that when your time comes to have the baby. Good luck.

Yes it's normal. I was the same way. Girl, I was cleaning out the inside of the toliet tank when I realized I've gone too far! They call it the nesting syndrome and it's just a sign of it getting closer to that time.

30 wks. This is normal behaviour. perhaps your feeling some anxiety about your current situation and cleaning your "nest" is also a way of preparing for your child. It's ok to feel this way and your hormones are starting to be affected by the child. Yes, cleaning is ok. Just be careful not to overexert yourself.

It's called "nesting"... totally normal behavior for a pregnant woman... you're getting ready to bring home baby. It's good to do because you probably won't get a chance to do it in the first month that the baby arrives.

well...i dont think you should of moved the furniture, that could have hurt baby, but yes its normal, its the nesting instinct, im 35 weeks and have had it for a while, trust me, even though you know theres tons to do, sit it out for a while, or let your fiance do it, because trust me, the further along you get, the tireder you'll get, and im not happy for doing all that i did, because now im exhausted!!!

This is completely normal. Its called nesting. Its an instinct that we have to prepare for the baby to come. Isn't it kind of funny?

You're nesting. The compulsiveness should end after you give birth. Be careful about strong smelling chemical cleaners.
