i appreciate all of your answers, but the heartburn comes out of no where! and it only last about 10-15 secs so by the time i boogy it to the fridge and get some milk it is already gone. same happend when i used tums. id yell to my fiancai when i feel it kicking in TUMS NOW!!! and he would run to get the tums but by the time he gets back or im done chewing its already gone :(

Okay, I totally sympathize. I'm 8 weeks pregnant with my 3rd baby. I've never had heartburn before, ever, even with my 2 other pregnancy's. The last two weeks I have been miserable, and in incredible pain. Tums weren't helping at all, plus my dr. only wanted me to take 1 a day. No help. I started looking online. Now this is going to sound wierd, and I have no idea how it helps, but I haven't had heartburn in the last 2 days. Almonds. Eat about 5-8 almonds a few times a day. I eat them before a meal or when I start feeling uncomfortable and poof.... it's gone. Plus, I feel alot more comfortable popping a few almonds than any medication...especially in my 1st trimester. Give it a try. I know Almonds can be expensive. I bought a can at Walmart for about $6, but most of those antacids are $4-6 anyway. Trust me, try it. What do you have to lose?

Try prilosec. (im not sure if thats the correct spelling, but its in a purple box.) I had heartburn so bad that it would actually make me throw up, and that always helped me. Also, chew two tums, and then chug a whole cup of milk, and chew two more tums when youre done with the milk. My friend recommend that before I got the prilosec and it helped also.

When the heartburn sets in drink a small glass or a couple of mouthfuls of cold milk, it should help

Okay, I know exactly what you are saying! I had this too and it didnt matter what the heck I ate, it still happened... The only thing that helped me was a perscription for Zantac... You can get it over the counter but its kinda pricey... Or, they can write you a perscription for it if you have a medical card! Good luck!

I dont know of any home remedies but baking soda. When I was preggo I had it so bad that my doc gave me prilosec. It's safe to take but it depends on how far along you are. It helped me until the very end and even then it wasn't as bad w/ the prilosec. Ask your doc.

Small meals, nothing too acidic (like tomato sauce). Go to your doc and get a prescription medication--Walmart now has generic prescriptions for $4.
