You all have to be crazy. Seriously. He is only doing all of this to get his arena and all the goods to go along with it. He's going to play this game until he gets his cake...and he'll eat it too.

I agree with you. I think he's just flirting with other cities to put pressure on Pittsburgh city council.

I hope the team stays in Pittsburgh, but as an ex-local I have my doubts. First, Pittsburgh has a declining population and Pennsylvania's state economy is a mess. Secondly, there are other, more affluent and politically competent cities offering free room and board with their stadiums already built. This said, I don't blame Mario for the current predicament. Remember, without Mario buying the team out of bankruptcy a few years ago, we wouldn't be having this discussion right now because the team would already have been gone.

The CIty's been promising Lemieux an arena since he bought the team. Lemieux never wanted to be a business man, but he bought the team to save the franchise under the condition that the city would give them a new arena. The local government never came through, and Mario's just trying to get the money that's been due to him for 10 years. He doesn't even own the biggest share of the penguins, its a group, and he's the frontman. I hope he doesn't move the pens, but he has every right to after this city's screwed him over.

I think the Pens will stay in Pittsburgh, but Mario won't get his cake and eat it too. He'll get his cake. That's it though, not more.

because hes in talks with two other city's that have new hockey arenas already built. being from Pittsburgh i pray to god that Mario doesn't sell the penguins because if they go then he better go because hes gonna have alot of angry pens fans at his door

the city is trying to make a plan to keep them but he wants alot of money up front for this arena so we will just have to wait it out and see what happens
