no tax, good pricing, some of the new release especially the perfume and cologne is there. except, no promotion like you get a freebie. thatis when you buy it in big department store, you get a chance to get a bags, watches, umbrella, shirts and among other promotional goodies. the cigarettes and drinks are the best, cheaper and good finds. disadvantage, if you really wanted it for your own personal use, you need to buy it then keep it in your luggage to take home with you. expecting family member will not hassle you with it.

the other thing, you are not allowed to take the purchase with you, you have to get it in the gate.

also, you have few days to come back to the airport to allowed in duty free to buy stuff but make sure you bring your boarding pass or ticket.

Currently, there are only FOUR goods in Singapore have Duty, they are: Liquor, Tobacco, Petrolum and Motor Vehicles. Other than these, all are "Duty Free". The Duty can be VERY high, such as Tobacco, one package cost $11, about $7.50 - $8 is the Duty.
