I saw The Day After Tomorrow and there were tornados in California but Florida is futher south than California and there was a tornado in Florida just this past week and I was just wondering if I should be freaking out or not

Florida is an active tornado region and as traditionally been so. Florida averages about 55 tornadoes per year...ties for third with Kansas. This average is from 1953 to 2004. So a tornado in Florida is not abnormal by a long shot.

Tornadoes can and do occur in Florida. It is not an unusual occurrence.
