It is madness! all these years, many of his movies have been nominated for oscars, and numerous awards. Hopefully he will win this year! They just have to!!! Who else agrees?

I think he's lost so many times because his movies only improve with age and multiple viewings. That means that a current-moment phenomenon (like "Dances with Wolves") can snatch awards from something like "Goodfellas." Ten years later, everyone looks back and realizes that the wrong film won. At the time, Costner was hot and everyone was impressed that he "revived" the Western with a politically correct, 3-hour epic. A similar kind of thing happened when Scorsese lost the Oscar for "Raging Bull" to Redford for "Ordinary People."

His films are not what Hollywood "wants" ( and that line of reasoning is malarkey)
