Oh no, absolutely not!

Healthy guinea pigs should only have fresh clean water. Don't add those vitamin drops the pet stores try to push on you--by the time the drops hit the water, the chlorine in the water neutralizes the Vitamin C & just leaves orange colored water. Its worthless & the pigs really don't like the taste of it anyway. Give those piggies one half of a fresh orange slice each morning & they'll get all the Vitamin C they need. Make sure to remove any seeds, as they are toxic to the pigs. They each need 1 cup of fresh greens each day (parsley, cilantro, Romaine lettuce, bell pepper, etc.) as well as a quality guinea pig pellet (NOT rabbit pellets!) and hay. A good source of information for new piggie owners is www.guinealynx.info Good luck!

I don't think it would hurt them, but the question is why does he think they need it? And will they drink it? Personally, if I had guinea pigs, I would give them a good guinea pig food, like Hartz brand, and then I would do a bit of reading on good fruits and veggies for guinea pigs and make sure they get plenty of those. Between the food and fresh fruits and veggies, they should have every nutrient they need to be healthy, without the sports drink.

no longer in all probability! For one ingredient, hamsters can certainly get away out of their cages whilst guinea pigs won't be able to get away. additionally, whoever stated guinea pigs chew extra suitable than hamsters are completely incorrect. For the full 2 years i've got had my guinea pigs, i've got by no potential ever gotten bitten.

Gatorade once a month will not hurt them. but only enough to dilute to taste if the water. the gatorade has electrolites in it which it needs. what's even better is at most farm stores they sell electrolites in a powder form which are even better because they don't contain high fructose corn syrup. only use corn syrup if the cavy is not feeling good (the electrolites work to sometimes better)
