I started having contractions last night... doc knew... i was seen in the hospital, and given drugs to stop them...im only 35 weeks... the on call ob did an internal exam that i think irritated my cervix and may have triggered me to pass my plug, I want to know what others plugs looked like so i can know if it was more likely the plug or just mucous from the cervix being irritated...
it was the size of a quarter, big clearish firmer blob surrounded by darker old blood(probbaly from irritated cervix) and alot of mocha colored stuff, basically blood tinged lukoriha,,,, yummy! Sorry! Does that sound like what it could have been?

I began losing mine at 33 weeks. This will sound super gross, but I was going to the bathroom (just peeing) and I heard "plop" and was confused to say the least. When I looked in the toilet it looked like I had blown my nose in there. When I wiped it was super thick, stringy, greenish-yellow, and seemed like a lot. That was a one-time experience with it until these last few days where everytime I go to the bathroom I have it, and have a lot of it. This time it has ranged from greenish-yellow to completely clear. However, it is still super thick and nasty. It reminds me of the glue on advertisements and free samples that they send you in the mail or the newspaper. Like nasty boogers, lol!

i have had 3 kids...
the plugs are not always the same... sometimes the best description is that it looks like a great big snot ball!
it is usually milky white or even yellow in color (if its green u have an infection- call ur dr immediately!)
this is pretty much it... oh size-- anywhere from the size of a dime to the size of a small golf ball
good luck with the delivery!

if it is normal it is just like clear gloop, i rushed to hospital with my first, but hadnt even started contractions so i was there for hours before anything actually happened, so it that is the case dont worry about rushing. HOWEVER if there is blood or any discoloration like green or blackish get to the hospital fast as you can because your baby is distressed, and there are complications. If you are unsure on what to do ring up the hospital and talk to midwife.

a great booger on your underclothes, lol. it could even have blood in it which could the two be purple or brown. The plug could additionally be sparkling. you could lose it over a pair days besides. No do not bypass to the scientific institution yet, this could mean exertions is very close! I went into exertions 12 hours after dropping my plug. stable success!

It looked a whole lot like phlegm that you'd cough up when you have bronchitis or something similar. Mine had a bit of blood in it, but only a drop or two. Not attractive, but it did its job, and it's a good "early warning signal" that you're about to be a mom.
Congrats!

It is a big glob of mucous, that means your water might break soon, be prepared to get yourself to the hospital!

(laugh) What? It has no shape, color. It just "pops" and is out. Thats why its called a mucous plug.

It was clumpy and like silicone. It was sticky, you could stretch it inches! It was every wheres and gross, but not blood tinged like others.
