Good things: 1. See the Bellagio's fountain show (up close, so you can hear how it coordinates with the music) 2. See the Mirage's volcano 3. See the Star Trek Experience at the Hilton and ride the adventure simulators 4. See the Rio's Masquerade In the Sky show 5. Either American Superstars at Stratosphere or Legends in Concert at Imperial Palace - both great impersonator shows with live performances 6. Spend an evening downtown - the slots are looser and the Fremont Experience is a fun block party 7. See the lounge acts - free for the price of a drink almost everywhere
Don't bother: 1.Unless you've got endless cash, avoid the fancy restaurants and even buffets at the most ritzy hotels. The eating places at mid-level hotels, especially the 24-hour cafes, are pretty nice and won't take the cash you need for more important things. 2.Don't try to club-hop; it'll take all night just getting in and out and through lines. 3.Don't try to walk everywhere; you'll hardly be able to walk anymore by the 2nd day. 4.Don't blow your cash too quickly - divide it up so you know how much you can spend each day. 5.Most Important Don't: don't try to "wing it", plan ahead and make reservations if needed. It really depends on what you consider to be fun.
I like visiting Mt. Charleston. Its' peaceful and there is a good place to eat breakfast there.
Madame Tussauds is cool, but it's over priced.
