I am just curious.I am American...and here some of the regional accents really grate my nerves, but, for example, the Maine accent is appealing.

The queens English as spoken in the south. I do not mean with a pompous or exaggerated posh accent. Neither, at the other end of the scale, the type spoken by that horrible Jade Goody. I am not opposed to the Geordie accent but I cannot stand that harsh Irish accent spoken by the likes of Ian Paisley.

A proper cockney accent is great although most outsiders think that any South Eastern England is cockney but it certainly isn't and is just laziness not to speak properly.

Geordie is superb and so is Belfast. Scouse is dreadful and so is the Black Country.

We are lucky to have so many differences in one small set of islands.

Northern Irish! Its the acceptable blend...really a lot less intense than a republic of eire irish accent yet exciting and horny. I also love a complicated English accent (familiar newsreader accent) and scottish works really nicely on television! I dont understand adequate welsh human beings to remark :( i'm English....with a southern accent, hoping to bypass to northern eire quickly! j/ok

The Geordie accent from NE England sounds so happy. When I hear a Scouse (Liverpool) accent I get a nasty feeling that the wheels have been stolen from car.
