I want to make a plaster of paris mold of Jesus. the types you see on the cross. I was wondering what would be a good substance to fill the mold with. Preferably something that can be easily taken out without breaking the mold. Please let me know any substances and any techniques that you guys use. Thanks.

Papier mache can be pressed into a plaster mold and removed easily if you coat the mold with a petroleum jelly or wax so the moisture of the mache does not leech into the mold and stick top it.
You could press polymer clay into the mold, sand mixed with a waterproof glue or cement, or even use saw dust with a wood glue binding, it is all about protecting the mold from being attached to the fill. Mold release can be anything that accomplishes that from silicone spray to spray cooking oil, wax etc.

it sounds like you should make a 2 part mold. then you'd be able to pouer just about anything that solidifies in it. you'd also be able to press the stuff mentone din each half then press the halves together.
