Your printer usually comes with a driver disk or CD. It would be on there. When you connect it, it would have prompted for it. If it didn't you don't need it.

Most new printers usually come with a CD-ROM and an instruction manual. This CD-ROm contains the necessary drivers you need to install the printer.

iF it did not came with a CD then probably you can try to add it manually from the pre-installed drivers in your system.

If you are using Windows XP, go to Control Panel> Switch to Classic View (If the link is visible) > Add Hardware..then just follow the wizard..

Consult your manual too

If you are installing anything on your computer then you need the drivers to be able to do it. The drivers are software. Discs. Or you can download them on line. Any hardware you buy comes with discs (software)..

Kind regards
