Back in MY day channel one was for school. We had to watch it in homeroom. This was back in the '90's tho so you youngun' wouldn't know'bout that. *I say in an old time-y voice*

Channel One is the National Emergency Channel.
If something dramatic, like a comet collision or something, happens, you will be able to tune to Channel One for instructions on what to do.
I guess they will officially tell you the world is about to end so bend over and kiss your as$ goodbye.
