I thought women did have equal rights, and yes, they should be drafted.

Yes. However, this issue is only relevant if the draft is reinstated. So with respect to getting drafted, for the past 30 years, women and men have been treated the same way with respect to the draft: not called for mandatory service.

Sure. Why not, unless some of them are not fit for the job or are likely to create problems. There are many guys who made the draft during vietnam but they were later determined mentally unfit, that is, they had a psychological disorder. There are many women who possess the physical and mental strengths as men, but as a whole, most women are not able to perform at the same physical strength level of most men - its just the genetic nature of things.

yes , if we women gain equal rights than that should include the possibility of getting drafted

Only those who can survive being in the army, women included, should be drafted, if we need drafts at all. The others can stay behind and run the country.

My dad says they argued over that one in the 1970's too! Along with war and government and taxes, pollution and oil dependence, guess nothing ever really changes. At least (I think) they had better music back then!
