These two men are very unpopular. How comes they have both successfully won elections. Who is voting for them???

Both are (or were) very charismatic figures, and people vote for personality not policy. Voters must have found them preferable to the alternative candidates. Most people don't bother to find out the policies of the people they vote for. Both these figures have done more or less what they said they would do, and as such we got the government we voted for. And if you don't like Blair, I think you'd better get away before Gordon takes over as prime minister - and no-one has voted for him in that job.

It is rigged dont you know? It is all decided behind closed doors what is wanted and the candidates agree EG congestion charges, then they "win". The congestion charges were first considered by the Labour government before Ken even dreamt of being mayor. After a visit to TB, ken duly won. And after that ?

Are the voters in Britain so dim that they cannot see through the likes of these two oafs?
