Pepperoni is slightly spicy and this could cause his cheeks and chin to be red. The same would happen if you gave a baby something with cinnamon in it and they got it on their face. Nothing to be too worried about if they are not uncomfortable. Just gently wash their face off and give them some water or juice to drink!

If a baby was actually having an allergic reaction, the appearance would probably be slightly raised, more like a rash and more likely than not, he would be at least irritable, if not upset.

It could be as the other posters said, that eating the pepperoni is making his face red because of the spice, but knowing how little kids eat, it could also be from having the pepperoni touch his face. I would wash his face off and not worry about it anymore unless he acts uncomfortable or his face is still red tomorrow.

He will be fine, pepperoni is very spicy. Baby's are sensitive to anything new, he will probably get a stomach ache later also. Make sure he drinks lots of water and keep an eye on him. If he doesn't have any other symptoms I wouldn't worry. watch him close and if it gets worse call an advice nurse. and don't let him eat it again.

My sister's face would get all red and blochy after she ate spaghetti sauce and also when she drank orange juice. As long as he's not having trouble breathing, I would just watch his behavior for a little while.

Women crack me up. Always rushing to the doctor or rushing their kids to the doctor over nothing, no need at all. This is one of the reasons that insurance premiums are out of control. Go ahead, take Junior on out to the doctor. Make a life and death issue over nothing. The doctor will just bill your insurance provider ten thousand dollars for looking at your kid for 5 minutes and telling you he will be fine.

Yeah I agree I dont think this is too bad...I think he is red from the spices...I'm surpirised he ate the stuff! Bread is what to give to counteract the spiceiness. Plenty of fluids...he may have a stomach ache later....its unpleasant...but i dont think its dangerous.
