They are hair/makeup stylists. Often times, a person's regular stylist may do the hair, if he/she is willing. The funeral home usually employs someone to do the makeup.

They're just called stylists I believe, and they make good money too, about double what a normal stylist gets.

A mortician is the undertaker, not the stylist.
