Let's think about this. A lesbian, for example, has only about 5% of the population to choose from. I, as a straight male get to select from about 45% of the population. Whom do you think will wind up with the better choice?

Well, unless you plan on dating 45% of the population, it really makes very little difference in practice.

Gay people do have a choice.

Option 1: Be honest with yourself and those close to you about who you are sexually attracted to. Live your life in the open and lead a life to the best of your abilities.

Option 2: Be honest with yourself, but lie to others. Live your life hidden and scared that others may find out who you are sexually attracted to in order to avoid discrimination.

Option 3: Lie to yourself and others. Pretend that you are something that you are not. Deny yourself happiness by thinking that other peoples opinions are more important that an opinion of oneself. (This is usually not an effective long term solution; ex. Ted Haggard, Mark Foley, James McGreevey)

As to who will wind up with the better choice, it would be the person who is honest with themselves enough to be honest to another person.

neither, you can't say which got the better choice if they both love somebody, they both got the same outcome. The straight male has more possibilities.

Anyone who does not choose YOU is far better off.

Unfortunately 45% of the women in the world would not want anything to do with you.....

........otherwise you wouldn't be here on Yahoo thinking about gay sex all day.

Its not about the volume "out there" but about the actual number of people "available to us" as potential partners, realistically. And the number of those WE MEET! This is why its important to GET OUT and meet people and not stay home inside.

It's not about how many you date or how many there are to date, it's about finding the right one for you.

Hmmm... I prefer quality to quantity. That's a good choice to me.

Gay is not a choice. We're all here and we all have to get along.
