I'm considering moving out soon, although it may not be a choice, since the house may be foreclosed on soon. Any suggestions for starting out? I bring home about $300 a week. How much should go towards rent and how much should I save back?I have a car payment of 115, insurance of 184, cell phone and internet combined is 100. Car gas is 125 and food is 125 a month(estimate). Thanks.

1200 a month
minus 649
leaves 551

A 1 bedroom 1 bath would run at minimum probably $300-$400 dollars. That wouldn't leave much to save or put towards utilities. If I were you, I would lose the things that aren't needed (cell phone, internet, and for that much money it sounds like you are probably driving more than is nessesary) and use that money for utilities.

You should really save about 10-20% of your paycheck every month, and not spend more than 1 weeks pay on your rent.

Hope this helps, good luck!
