Its a girl!! I saw the three white lines with my daughter too at 20 weeks and it sure was a girl...then with my son i could definitely see the wee wee *u would be able to tell if it was a boy, boys wee wee's stick straight up in the air,u cant miss it*...

Sometimes u/s techs have been wrong but usually they are right, they are wrong only a tiny little percent of the time and do u know how many u/s they perform in one day? too many to count, trust me they know what they are doing and they wouldnt tell u if they were for sure...The three white lines are almost a given..dont stop yourself from buying baby girl stuff because u think they might have been wrong, chances are 98% they were right..Good Luck, now go out and buy pretty little pink things =)

Well This is the perfect question for me then. LOL... Funny story really, Well I was told 3 times that I was having a little girl and I got all pink stuff and had the name ready and all. During delivery the doc said "You've got a beautiful little boy". My mom had to correct him but he was right. My son was going to go home in pink and everything. I was really happy cuz I wanted a little boy. But I seen the lines and everything to and had 3 different docs say it was a girl. With all the pink things I got I kept most of them for when I had another baby and thank God I did cuz now I have a little girl as well. Good luck and Congrats.

I was 23 weeks when I had my first ultrasound and yes we saw the 3 white lines. The tech said she was 90% it was a girl. I had a 3-D ultrasound today and there they are again the 3 white lines! It's a girl! I am currently 27 weeks, 5 days! Good luck!

Well you have a couple of options, i have heard that if they say its a boy, it most likely is, but if they say its a girl there's still a fair likelihood of it being a boy. You can see if you can request one more ultrasound to see if you can get a reading that makes you feel a little more confident or you can go to one of those 3-D ultrasound places, they are a little more expensive and not covered by insurance but you would definitely know if its pink or blue.
i have a friend who was told she was having a girl the whole time, she painted the nursery pink, bought almost all pink clothes, girly car seat, blankets etc., guess what she had...

I was told im having a girl at 19 weeks, then i had a scan at 25 weeks and the sonographer confirmed it. I went out and bought heaps of girly stuff but i have kept all the reciepts.(just in case) and im only washing the outfit i want to bring her home in. That way if she is a boy, there will only be one outfit i cant return, if your really unsure just buy unisex colours for now. Good luck with your baby.

Yes i too seen the three white lines and was told im having a girl! I would advise you to buy SOME pink but not all. I have bought very little pink and have tried sticking to neutral colours (creams, greens, whites etc...) Im afraid incase they are wrong about the sex. Altho a very low percent chance of this happening it has happened to my sister and a friend of my partner!! Just tread carefully but congrats you're having a baby girl!!!! (90%) LOL

sometimes they can be wrong. have you not had the 4D sonogram? those are VERY detailed, and are better at guessing the sex than the black and white fuzzy sonogram.

i bought yellow and green and white things...to get me started, just in case. then after i had my babies....i went out and bought more of the things i wanted (be it blue or purple *i don't care for the color pink*)

for the first 2 to 4 months they spit up all over everything anyway...so save your money on those expensive outfits and just go basic. i would buy 4 to 6 really cute outfits to go out in town with my babies, but would just have them in sleepers and things like that at home.
and receiving blankets make fabulous burp clothes, and add a bit of the color you want without costing an arm and a leg.

this is what a 4D sonogram looks like

my first, i had 3 ultrasounds and they all showed the 3 little lines. i bought girl stuff immed. if it was a boy, they wouldn't make a mistake, you would see that it was a boy, because there would be something between the legs. so buy away!

If you were 23 weeks and the ultrasound tech didn't see a penis, there is no penis! You are having a girl. Congrats. I knew I was having a boy when I was 12 weeks along. We could already see his penis then, and at my 21 week US, there was NO doubt!

They couldnt tell because my daughter kept closing her legs, it took 8 ultrasounds and at 37 weeks she finally decided to show, but ive known since the day i peed on the stick it was a girl, sometimes you just have a feeling....
