I had my period from the 17-19th, and it was light, meaning I didn't need tampons, just pantiliners. BUT it wasn't really really light; it was still noticeable and seemed like a period. It was brown. Can you tell the difference? If I bled then and now I am having symptoms, does that match up with the time line? What I mean to say is, is it possible to have symptoms this soon?

to be honest...it sounds like implantation bleeding to me. esp. since the color was brownish and not bright red, which is associated with a menstrual cycle.

if implantation has occurred, then you should be able to get a reading from a pregnancy test. my suggestion would be to take one.
if it shows negative wait a day or two and test again if you have not had a "normal" period still, and then finally i would go have a blood test and exam to rule out anything else, such as an infection.

I copied these from different sites. I hope this helps out!

"Implantation bleeding You may have some light spotting for a day or two at about the time when the fertilized egg burrows into the wall of your uterus. This is a process that starts just six to seven days after fertilization, so you wouldn't even know you were pregnant yet."

"What does implantation bleeding look like?
Implantation bleeding is vaginal discharge which usually contains a small amount of pinkish or brownish blood. Only about a third of pregnant women experience implantation bleeding.

When does implantation bleeding usually occur?
It can happen at the time the fertilized egg implants in the uterus, on average between 6 to 12 days past ovulation."

"Implantation bleeding or menstrual period?

Implantation bleeding normally occurs a week to a few days before your period would normally start. Spotting that occurs around a week after ovulation is likely implantation bleeding; whereas, spotting that occurs very close to the time that your period would normally start may not be. A normal menstrual cycle generally starts off light and then gets heavier. Spotting can sometimes be the sign of an early period. If this is the case, the spotting will pick up to heavier bleeding. If you have spotting right around the time your period would normally start, it can be more confusing. You will need to take the wait and see approach or take a pregnancy test to determine pregnancy."
