When the flue and the doors are open we do not receive any heat in the house.

it sounds like you have gas logs installed in a conventional fireplace. a gas fireplace is generally a sealed unit. with gas logs, the damper must be open, although not necessarily all the way. gas logs, just like a conventional wood burning fireplace are not designed to be a heat source. they may produce some radiant heat but, most of the heat generated goes up the flue. as for the doors being opened or closed, you will not get any radiant heat with the doors closed. some gas logs require the doors be open for proper operation.

If you leave the doors open you are gonna let all the heat out of the house.

I think you should leave the doors open if you want heat. If you don't get any heat, call the gas company and let them fix it.

Unless you have a ventless fire box the gas fireplace is very ineffective.You lose all the heat straight up the flu

ibelieve the doors open, and the flue also open
