The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in.

I recommend checking out the SBA, Entrepreneur, The Start Up Journal & Nolo. All 4 are great informational resources for the new/small business owner. I posted links for you in the source box.

Associations may be a good avenue to explore. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links.

Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can about the industry. Here are some book titles that are relevant:

* Specialty Shop Retailing: How to Run Your Own Store Revised by Carol L. Schroeder
* Retail Business Kit for Dummies by Rick Segel
* Retail Success! by George Whalin
* Ultimate Guide to Specialty Retail: How to Start a Cart, Kiosk or Store -- by Patricia Norins

There are plenty of free informational resources out there. Check the source box for links to articles.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

I am a jewelry dealer from Bangkok, Thailand. I need to fine someone who might want to do home base business without financial back up. All you need is a website that you can post my items for sales. You do the selling, receiving the money. I do the shipping – drop ship. If you are interested in working together, send me a note. I have PayPal account for this business.

www.irs.gov- Federal Tax Number(it's free)
check with your local Small Business Administration and see what they can help you with such as seminars for access to financial help,etc.. Also check with your County Clerk at your local Courthouse to file your company's name with the county. Remember,Uncle Sam isn't the only one who wants their share at tax time. Do your research for pricing on different parts of town when it comes to your shop. Good luck.
