You should always be yourself. But we can always improve ourselves. We all can! So, without sacrificing your identity, still look deep inside yourself, be honest, and try to figure out what behaviors you are using that make some people feel that way about you. Also, select an acquaintenance or a friend (one you think you might be able to trust) and genuinely ask them what you are doing to offend people. Don't be defensive. If you really want to change things, then be open to positive comments.

Just be yourself...always.... then you don't have to put on a show for anyone. Never lie, cheat or steal and treat others as you would like to be treated.... unless you are a truly bad person in all aspects, people will like you. Go to church and find friends who are real and not those who a just party, good time friends because those friends are only there when the party is on. good luck to you.

sounds complicated. How is it these folks got the wrong idea?
You are the one displaying who you are or telling/giving information to perceive you as what they have defined you to be.
What are you a poser? This sounds like you have an identity problem or that your choice to hide the "true" you has become too much for you and it is close to being discovered.
Not trying to be mean to you. Maybe I don't fully understand.

Well they shouldn't think you're someone else in the first place, you should be yourself at all times. And If they don't like you for you, they mineaswell like your friend its not you so who cares.
