I recently purchased a 1998 Ford Explorer and the alarm has went off twice this weekend. It's bitter cold here right now, could that have anything to do with it? It has a brand new heavy duty battery in it, less than a month old.

i does not do it in a ford like that, especially a 2WD one. in case you choose to do quite some off roaring, my suggestion could be to purchase a variety rover or land cruiser or something like that. Edit: additionally a lot of those fords are companies to rolling over, so in case you do use it extremely is totally careful.
