I have a recall audition for a theatre school which is really hard to get into. For the recall they have sent me a application form to fill. One of the questions are: We want you to write a little bit about yourself. And then there is a blank page.
I think that I should not just write a boring biography of my life.. How can I answer this question best possible way?
What should I include?
Anywhere I can find good examples??

My suggestion is that you handle this one all by yourself. Really. Nothing you get from any outside source is going to be as true and authentic as what you come up with on your own.

The people who conducted the audition obviously liked your initial audition, because they've called you back. Now, they're just looking for a little more information about the PERSON behind the ACTOR.

Take the opportunity. Write about what's important in your world. Take a risk; REVEAL something about yourself. You see what they're doing? They already know you can act...NOW, they want to know if you're a person they're going to want to work with, day in and day out, for the next couple of years.

When I was teaching acting, I used to give my incoming students an assignment on the first day of school. I'd make them write me a 2-3 page paper on something (or someone) that they're PASSIONATE about...and it couldn't be theatre or acting! I wasn't trying to psycho-analyze them, or get into their heads...I just wanted them to DECLARE themselves as excitable, enthusiastic people. Perhaps something along those lines would serve your purpose...

First of all, congratulations on your recall audition! Sounds like that question is designed so they can get to know you better. Why not tell them who you are instead of writing like someone else. Be genuine and show them your sense of humor or your creative side. You don't want to fake it in this essay as they will be comparing what you've written to what they observe about you during your recall audition. Be yourself and be true to yourself. They obviously see your potential or they wouldn't have called you back. Break a leg!

I would write a bio in character on the blank page, get inside the character's head and see what you can come up with.
