Yes, I was told to when I worked in a medical laboratory as it avoided any confusion with 1s. I also started making "open" 4s so they would not get mistaken for 9s.

Yes I do. I think it's a continental thing but I was educated in the US and the UK so I shouldn't. I do make my 2s with a curlicue like the Americans so I'm all messed up LOL

no, i don't.
at school, we were taught that in continental europe, the numeral 1is written with a long downstroke. to avoid confusion with a 7, the crossbar is added to a 7.
we may be in the E.U., but, hey, our women still shave under their arms!

sometimes. depends on my mood and how legibly i can write on certain days. if it ends up looking like a "2" i'll cross it.
