Yes, it was published in "Top Secret Recipes". I'll see if I can find the link, but I remember the REAL secret is that the meat is "fried" in a pressure cooker.

1 egg, beaten
2 cups milk
2 cups all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons black pepper
1 teaspoon msg (monosodium glutamate-you can use Accent Flavor Enhancer)
6 cups Crisco cooking oil
2 frying chickens, with skin, each cut into 6 pieces

In a small bowl combine the egg and milk.
In a seperate bowl, combine the remaining four dry ingredients.
Dip each piece of chicken into the milk mixture until fully moistened. Roll the moistened chicken into the flour mixture until completely coated.
Pour the oil into the pressure cooker and heat over medium heat to about 400.
In groups of 4 or 5, drop the chicken pieces into the oil and lock the lid into place. When the steam begins shooting through the pressure release, set the timer for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, release the pressure according to manufactuer's instruct ions, and remove the chicken to paper towels or a metal rack to drain.
Repeat with remaining chicken.
TIDBIT: If you prefer not to use MSG, you may substitute an additional 1/2 TBS. of salt. Be aware however that using MSG produces the best clone of KFC's fried chicken.

Alternate seasonings for those who can't use msg or accent:
2 tablespoons salt
2 cups flour
2 tablespoons pepper
4 tablespoons paprika
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 tablespoon mustard, ground
1 tablespoon French thyme, ground
1 tablespoon sweet basil
1 teaspoon oregano, ground
1 tablespoon jamaica ginger, ground

Quite a few years ago I had to make fried chicken for a ladies luncheon. A friend of mine shared a secret with me: She mixed a package of dry "Seven Seas Italian Salad Dressing" in with the flour!
1. She dipped the chicken first in melted butter
2. and then in flour mixture,
3. then dipped it into well beaten eggs
4. and then in the flour again.
It was unbelievably good and tasted just like the Colonel's chicken!

No. And you know what? It's still really good, but it doesn't taste as good as it use to. And when you get a 2 piece w/biscuit, the chicken is so scrawny, and you pay like $3 and some change. I remember when it use to be $2.
Did I go off subject?...........Sorry. lol

Mr. Knowitall's answer was probably the best one. I read somewhere the KFC has the highest amount of MSG in their food which is why I had to quit eating it :(

You guys are aware that the "real" Secret Recipe has never been released and the fake one has been "edited" so many times that it's pitiful?

The "secret" ingredients are salt, pepper and MSG-that's it. Whatever "11 herbs and spices" that may have been the actual original recipe died with the Colonel; it doesn't exist anymore, thanks to PepsiCo buying out the company.
