A baby can't understand, and plus, if you said that to a 15 year old thats overwieght, THAT is a bad nickname. If her name starts with a M or rhymes with "oo" there is no problem. My mom used to call me "boo butt" and my big brother called me "tooty booty" until I was about 8 and i thought it was funny!

Just remember that nicknames stick for a long time and try and put yourself in the babys shoes...if u wouldnt mind being called Moo in highschool then dont call her that. I personally see nothing wrong with the nickname as a baby but it could stick much longer than those baby years and she might not like it when shes older. Unless u keep it as a special nickname from u only for her

well, the only thing I think is if you continue to call her that when she gets older, and the is still being called that, she might think she's fat, even if she isn't and friends could make fun of it, kids can be cruel...it's cute, but, I think I would maybe change it to Mooey, or something like that..just for the long term sake of the girl..and in this day and time, girls have problems when they grow up about being so thin like models, they get all kinds of eating disorders...so it's cute now, but, at least don't do it when she's more than a year, because you will get in the habit and it will stick and you don't want her to have to face more problems than they already have to face...good luck...

Don't do it! The name will stick way longer than you meant it to. My husband called our baby girl "fart blossom" and one day when she was about 3, he called her that (affectionately) and she burst into tears. She said it hurt her feelings! If you must give her a nickname, at least make it something she'll like when she is older.

I'm on your side...what harm could there be in calling a 4 month old by that name? I knew a girl in school that went by the same name. It never caused her any trouble.

i do not call him infant, he does. I actually have many nicknames for my boyfriend, notwithstanding the really frequently used ones are handsome, cutie, hottie, or merely his undeniable previous call (i'm getting too embarrassed/shy often times to look immediately in his eyes and say the aforementioned words). He calls me infant many of the situations, yet also calls me acceptable, eye-catching, etc.

Not if she is a four-month old COW. I am reminded of Governor Hogg in Texas History who named HIS two daughters... for real... Ima and Ura.
Think twice before you brand that kid for LIFE.

No, its fine, "moo" is a cute name and she is so young that to be honest, you could call her pretty much anything and she wouldnt be bothered by it.

It's not offensive! Is your husband fat or overweight? Maybe that's why he finds it ofensive. I used to call my son "fats" when he was little, he has yet to make that appoinment with the shrink, and is vey secure with himself.

well i think as long as you make it clear to your relatives that you arent trying to call her fat or cow like, that its cute and harmless [just drop it at a certain age or it might be taken wrong lol]
