Yes, here in america we do celebrate valentines day. Though many people believe that it is a commercial holiday, meaning it's not really just about love, but, rather, making money.

What's the point?
Valentine's Day, just like Mother's Day, Father's Day, Hallowe'en, and, to a large extent, Easter and Christmas, is just another means of making money. It's all about a commercialised trade fair selling tacky 'romantic' goods at highly inflated prices.
If you love someone, you should show that to him/her every day of the year. The only reason that the 'extra effort' has to be made on 14 February is that TV commercials and retail advertisements say you should.

yes it's a time 4 crushes 2 get presents a time 4 husbands wifes and give little gifts to each other so yeah

Reading these answers, I think one would have to almost live with Father Christmas to ignore Valentine's day.

Yes, we do. Flowers, candy, husbands/ boyfriends take their best girl out. Lots of celebrating.

yes, it is a time when we give gifts to the ones we love. A lot of times little kids give paper card to kids in class, and older people give toys, boxes oc chocalate and roses. it is a romantic, but sometimes commerical holiday.

omg yes! i moved 2 usa when i was 8, n i got SO MANY presents from the kids in my class. i was like "HUH, we never did this in UK!!" they gave it 2 class teachers, n teachers gave to all pupils... i thought they make a bigger deal out of it than uk does!
