My parents haven't worked in about 12 years. If I meet someone I really like what should I tell him. I'm afraid he will judge me because of my parents. In my cuture woman usually don't work and my father hasn't worked for certain reasons. What should i tell people when they ask me what my parents do. I'm tired of lying. My parents tell em not to tell the truth. They will find out eventually.

I believe that you have an issue to resolve. Find something positive you can say about your parents and your ancestors and say it with pride.
What your parents do for a living is no body's business, but your parents'.

Aways tell the truth. If someone can't be your friend because of who you are, you shouldn't have them as friends. Just be the best you can be. If someone needs to consider what it is your parents do to qualify you as a friend, you don't need them as friends. It's ok for friends or acquaintances to ask what they do. Their probably just curious. Just tell them they can't work, and it's complicated. Leave it at that.
It's not honorable to your parents to lie about them. As a matter of respect for them you shouldn't consider how other might judge them.
We should not judge one another in any way. But love one another with a pure love that is not judgmental, or puffed up.
Time as we know it is about to come to an end. Don't let the trivial stuff distract you from being at peace.

Yes your parents will find out that you told the truth, however if you can not be honest with the person you want to be involved with there is no point of trying to have a relationship. if you can not trust someone you can not love them. Good luck. You know right from wrong.

I mean, my mom doesn't work either, and I'm not scared to say that she doesn't.
As for your dad...I'm not sure. You have to give a little more information on why he isn't working. And if they haven't worked for 12 years, how are you supporting yourself + them? You must be old enough to work then? If thats the case, then you can simply say your working for your dad because you love him a lot ! lol

Unfortunatly this extracts a very heavy toll on siblings. People are not stupid. They just dont say what they really think. Nothing short of intervention will save you. Either that or leave and find your own way. Good luck.
