I love my first love as much as the day I met him I was 15 and he was 21 and he let reluctently let me go because of the age difference. I was so hurt that I didn't date for two years then the pain became so bad I purposely got pregnant to have someone to love to ease the pain. I married the guy and our marriage is horrible. My first love found out and was so upset that he became an alchoholic and did alot of horrible things that made him spend 8 years in prision. He contracted Heptitis C and is now married with 3 children to a wife he hates. We are both in a loveless marriage. I call him every year to wish him a happy birthday and show I still care, he is always speechless. I always hang up before I let him say anything. We met Jan.2,1994 and I have this weird thing that I do, I keep a two pennies from each year, 1 for me to keep, and the other I lay outside the movie theater that we met, that burned down years ago. Every Jan. 2, I lay the penny on the the ground marking the past year that I have loved and thought about him, the other I keep for myself. I now have 13 pennies for 13 years. I still dream that maybe we still have a chance even when we are old and in wheelchairs to finish a love that I feel was meant to be. I think about him everyday, and yes, I still love him. I guess that is the true meaning for a penny for you thoughts, huh?

In some ways, maybe. But I love my husband and would never want to be with anyone other than him. There are different types of love. You can love people like you love your family, friends, etc. That's the kind of love I feel for someone who was once important in my life. I wish them happiness and the best, but don't wish to return to that part of my life.

No way. I am fortunate to have gotten out of a long term bad relationship while I still have many good years ahead of me. I met and married a wonderful woman. If you still love your ex you need to work on letting go. Perhaps a psychologist is in order.

Nope. What's in the past is special, but THAT'S where it is; in the past. If it was meant to be, it would've happened. But interferring in someone's marriage is a big NO-NO. Seriously, if she's married and either of you is feeling that way, you need to be the one to back off. The last thing you want is a guy coming after you for breaking up his marriage. If her marriage is meant to fall apart, so be it. But trust me, if she leaves him for you, you'll ALWAYS wonder if she'll do the same to you.
Too much drama if you ask me.

No because if there was something good that might may you think you still love that person, whatever bad overload the good that's why you're divorce now.
The only good things that's left from a failed marriage are children and experience.

Oh, HELL no! Divorcing him was the single most positive step I've ever taken. He was a negative, unhappy selfish person (and those were his GOOD qualities!). I'm just very happy that we never had children, so we didn't have to subject them to a divorce.

You move on and your feeling do as well. This is the reason why he/she is called your ex. It means you both aren't together for a reason, so stop thinking about your ex. They aren't thinking of you so why are you?
