I`ve got to have a criminal record background check done so i can help at my sons school. My problem is about 12yrs ago when i was 17 i got a caution for possession of canabis i need to know who will find out about it? Will my sons school see my record or will it just be looked at by some sort of educational board.

They will find out about this as the CRB check made for anyone working with children is very strict and all criminal record`s are searched ! Where as if you were going to be ..... say for instance a receptionist , the check they would make would only be for the last 7 year`s , But because you will be working with kid`s it will go as far back as when you were 11 ( the legal criminal age of responsibility ) .
As this is for drug`s there is a possibility that the education board would not allow you to become involved with any school !

Hmmm, good question. I have to have these done all the time cause I work with kids, but luckily I am clean.
I am afraid i dont know who will look at it-though I guess if you apply through the school, then the school will be the ones to hear about anything.
I believe a caution for possesion of canabis would be considered nothing serious. I know somebody who has the same thing and is working with young people. I understand your concerns.

You should find that that your drug possession caution will not pose a problem as what you was given was a caution and not a criminal conviction. Also i believe that anyone who has a criminal conviction are classed as spent convictions after 6 years so they are not held against you. So it is up to you if you want to declare your caution. To be honest, I don't think that a caution would show up on one of those checks anyway. I think its mostly convictions. However, even if it did, I think it would probably be just the board who saw it and not the school. You could always tell them anyway, then you've covered yourself.

It will only be seen by the local auth employer, the school has no rights to know about it because of data protection. if because of the caution the Local Education Auth did not think you were suitable for employment they would not hire you

hi i had a crb check be for i could go into carework i think it comes back 2 u then u pass it on 2 your new employer
