I think if I have to pay any more taxes to support someone other than myself, I am going to quit my job and go on welfare too. I am so tired of supporting everyone else!

NOOOO!! I don't want it at state level; I live in Arizona. I already pay a lot of illegal immigrants children's education and also there medical care.

Do some research, in the U.S. today we are paying more for health care then any other country, that's right number 1, but when it come to quality of care we rank number 14. There are many hidden cost to this as you do not consider that the CEO of General Motors has said that $1500 of every new car goes to pay for health care for its employees, I would assume that this also applies to many other industry's. This cost makes it difficult to compete in the world market with country's that have U.H.C. this means American jobs going off shore. There are many other but that is a couple of examples. When I ask a similar question last night I got an unusual answer "Next time you are staying in a $300 dollar a night hotel, remember that the maid that makes your bed making $8 an hour has no health care and has T.B. or some other communicable disease." I found that to be quite interesting but it really could be more then likely true.

Isn't everyone tired of payming more taxes? I am. I am sure most
of you are. And, even if we paid more taxes for welfare it's just more handout that will enable people on welfare to stay that way who are otherwise capable of working. Give them a hand up, not a hand out.

I think, and have always thought, that welfare on the Federal level has always been a phenomenally bad idea no matter how it is paid for. That should be a state matter not a Federal one.

I would suggest he pony up 35% of the proceeds from selling that big ranch he's got and give it to welfare families.

And if Kennedy votes for it, I want him to volunteer 35% of his father's estate, currently being held in off-shore accounts beyond the reach of taxation.

You have to remember, Mr. Edwards is a plaintiffs' attorney. He will say anything to appeal to the people he is addressing. In this case he is trying to make himself look good to poor minorities. It is practice number one in the liberals play book. Promise the poor anything to get them to vote for you.
