I call it Harry Lauder's...not sure if it really makes a difference, but possibly that's why you have had trouble finding it online. I found one site that could help you get started...Dave's Garden...not sure if it's near you. There are some links to plant nurseries that may stock it. All the best!
Here's the site:

These are 'fun' shrubs, and I think would go nicely in a 'fairytale' landscape. I would highly recommend looking for a local independent garden center to find one. You'll get alot of bang for your buck there. If not, try this catalogue company. I like them, they generally ship good sized plants for the money you'll spend. Freight is the killer. www.forestfarm.com
The website will make you dizzy with excitement.
The purple leafed form that someone else mentioned is an upright form, I think, unless something new has hit the market.
Harry Lauder was an English Comedian I believe.

Good luck
I hope that this helps

You say tree but usually they are sold in the shrub size and grow from there. Search the web, there are alot of sourses online. I worked a year at a wholesale nursery and we sold quite a few. Theres a new cultivar with maroon foliage that is quite nice. When you get one don't be afraid to prune it for effect. To often people just let weeping and contourted plants go wild while with proper prunning you can maintain and even enhance the desired effect. Good luck

Corylus avellana 'Contorta' is the name. These are fun trees. I think you should just type it into your search engine and scan through the hits to find the closest place that carries them, or make some phone calls to nurseries in your area. The are tough, so you probably can find one.

I also fell in love with them and I found mine at Home Depot last year. So if you have a Lowe's or Home Depot close by check in the spring time and you will probably fine one.

Yaa might be, it depends upon onlookers what they feel about me. Quality less person like me is always walking miracle in the eyes of others. I feel it but others recognize it. I am lip sealed about myself but others can easily talk and give their remarks for me. Only two person can be walking miracles in my view. 1. A beautiful loving and intelligent girl. and 2 A ugli ignorant and egoist man. Thank you.
