I have a Windows XP made by Shuttle [www.shuttle.com](USA). The thing is, it's two years old and I play The Sims 2 all the time. Well it got a corrupt autorun file and when I uninstalled the game to fix it, now I can't reinstall it! So, now I have to reformat or reinstall windows XP on my computer. I still have all the stuff that came with my computer, [disks, etc] but I'm not sure how. There's this one disk that came with my computer and when it pops up it gives you options and one says "Install Windows" is that what you do? I'm not sure. Please try to help!

Sounds good to me. Install the disk and then reboot. You should get a menu. This may be where you are seeing, 'Install Windows'. Follow the instructions from there to re-install.

just installing the windows disk is not going to fix the problem. You have to do a reset to factory condition. To do this you have two options.
the hard option is to press F6 while rebooting your computer and set the c drive to operate first upon restarting a computer. Then you put the windows disk in and reboot again.''the easy option "and only works on some computer models" is to simply hold down the F10 key while rebooting your computer to bring up the re-installation program. Doing this will reset the computer to factory condition and does not even require the disks to be used. this option is also only available on XP and above. older versions of windows never had the ability to do this.

Dont try any of this though until you first tried using ccleaner first which usually fixes all computer issue. Its free and can be found at www.ccleaner.com
